Zip Phin is one of the most exciting prospects we have seen for a long time. He is a lovely, quality type with a super character, great paces - and what a jump! But probably not surprising; look at his breeding: Phin Phin, Chin Chin, Lux Z, Constant, Abdullah, Lord Calando, Burggraaf, Cor De La Bryere, Farnese, Donauwind, Winnetou, Lord, Ahorn Z, Landgraf I, Calvados. All the sires in Zip Phin’s pedigree are the great and famous.
Zip Phin’s father Phin Phin jumped internationally with Reolof Bril as a seven year old, winning Grand Prixs and at Wembley (1.50m) in both 2001 and 2002. His sire Chin Chin jumped to sixth place in the Seoul Olympics with Jaime Azcarraga and sired many top International jumpers. Chin Chin’s grandmother Cesta evented successfully for years. Phin Phin’s dam was by the great Abdullah with Conrad Homfield won Individual Silver and team Gold medals in the Los Angeles Olympics and won the World Cup Final in 1985.
Zip Phin is the first foal from dam Super De Luxe, who is jumping successfully in
Super De Luxe’s dam is Misostar by the legendary Burggraaf who is known not only for producing fabulous sons but as a great “dam sire”. Misostar also produced U Star, the Reserve Champion at the KWPN Stallion Grading for jumpers (by Heartbreaker) who is also ridden by Anna Beck. Another offspring by Numero Uno shows vast potential and has recently been purchased by Stal Eurocommerce for a substantial sum to be ridden by the Schroder brothers. Great grand dam Isostar was a champion at Dutch Grading Shows in hand and produced wonderful stock. This dam line also produced the top stallion Habsburg, the sire of Michael Whittakers star Portofino (currently ranked World No. 2) and the stallion Non Stop (by Lux Z) who in 2002 was approved at Zangersheide and then sold for a record sum to Sweden where he is jumping Grand Prixs and stands as an approved Swedish stallion.
